Bara Brith

Thank you so much for your hearts and stars for yesterday’s blip.
Glad you enjoyed the photo of Judy Woods.

After so many photos taken yesterday it is down to an EB today.
Not much time after a visit to the hairdresser this morning, followed by a visit the opticians for MrC.

In between I baked this Bara Brith.
Another of our favourites. Just needs to be spread with butter, and enjoyed with a nice cup of tea.

I looked up the meaning.
It is Welsh of course. Bara - meaning bread.
And Brith - meaning speckled.
Not sure where I got this recipe from. It is a rich fruit loaf made with soaking the fruit in tea overnight. My recipe doesn’t have any yeast in it. Just self raising flour.and spices.
Was one of my Mother - in - law’s favourites too.

Have just been told by fellow Blipper Midgehole Dave that today is actually
Homemade Bread Day.
Well I never!
