Silver Birch Woodland

Friend Helen and I called on Friend L this morning who has just received the excellent news that she is free of cancer.  She still has some way to go and further treatment, but a cause for celebration with tea and carrot cake nevertheless.   Afterwards,  Helen dropped me off in Keighley and I climbed the cobbles up to the top of the hill and back across the moor to home.

On the way through the woodland, the sun briefly appeared and enabled me to capture the young silver birch trees.  

I was a bit disappointed that the Bake Off judges didn't send all four semi-finalists through to next week's final.  Penultimate episode of Shetland tonight!
