Sunlight & Rain Clouds

I nipped out to post a letter (yes - an actual, physical letter (well - completed form) in a red pos-tbox).
There was some lovely light (left over from the quick blast of sunrise in the extras maybe?) but I didn't hang about as the rain was threatening to completely overpower the light drizzle that was falling, but I just had to get a shot of the light hitting the Whitebeam leaves with the brooding sky above ...... and the huge flowers on the clematis hanging over somebody's fence (also in the extras).

In the evening we were invited out for drinks and nibbles to celebrate SWMBO's birthday with her oldest friend was is up visiting her father.
Of course we jumped at that - we don't see her or her father often enough.
Gifts were exchanged (flowers and a cake for SWMBO and a bag of wooden goodies for Don & Mags and her family).
Drinks and snacks were served and we got down to the serious stuff of exchanging news, gossip and memories.

Mags had a rather 'colourful' younger life - much of which she cannot remember (probably for the best) but there are always wee snippets that she can remember which she has us expand on. But that has to wait until her lovely Dad retires for the night (it is always nice to be referred to as 'young kids' when you are in your 60s).
I am sure she would be shocked if I told her of some of the things she got up to (I was always the one she confided deepest, darkest things to (her personal 'agony uncle' I suppose) and came to for advice).
