Old Fence

Spent a good part of the morning making soup - a batch of butternut squash and also some roasted tomato and red pepper. Forgot that Mrs madwill was going out for lunch with friends - so the soup will be going in the fridge and freezer for another day!!

Nipped out for a short walk and the sun came out briefly and lit up this old fence. It is buried in a thick hedgerow - so this intrepid explorer had to crawl in (again) to get a shot of it. I liked the little patches of sunlight shining on the bright green algae on the old wood.

Not sure what the little white object is at the bottom of the post - but I wasn’t going to touch it to find out….the path here runs in what used to be a lay-by / truck stop on the A1 - and the hedges and bushes are full of rubbish - including bottles of yellowish liquid (“Truckers’ Tizer” - Google it….) and bags of waste! We are talking about the days before ‘portaloos’ and there were no toilet facilities in the lay-by….
