A new cast

The blue cast is made from polyester casting tape. It is wetted and wound round the leg which has been previously wrapped in a fabric tube. As it dries it hardens (and gives out heat. )


The foot has been pushed back to counter the drooping ankle and will be held there by the setting cast.
Once hardened the cast was then cut each side and re-secured with straps. A bivalve construction rather like a clam shell
The halves can be individually removed to examine the top or bottom of the foot
I have already tried standing up putting light pressure on the toes.
