Ginkgo Tree

This is Ginkgo biloba, a.k.a. Maidenhair Tree. Native to China, it is the last living species of the Order Ginkgoales, which first appeared over 290 million years ago.

The Chinese have used it for years in their folk medicine and it appears to be a "cure all" for just about everything but a broken heart. The Chinese also believe that rhino horn is better than Viagara among a host of other speculative ingredients for many common diseases.

I leave it for you to decide whether or not such homeopathic "remedies" actually work or depend mostly upon the placebo effect, so well known to science.
