Easter Sunday mini blipmeet

What a wonderful afternoon!

It started with baking scones under Mummy hazelh's watch. Whenever I make scones on my own they come out of the oven as rock buns, so I was relieved really pleased when I pulled the tray out of the Aga today and saw that all was well. Soon after the baking lesson we rounded up our menfolkto to drive over to the first ever Humshaugh mini blipmeet, which was hosted by walkingMarj and her mother.

There we had a long chat together while enjoying a scrumptious afternoon tea of scones, lemon drizzle cake and peanut biscuits. We also met Marjorie's very beautiful black and tan cat Bowlby, although unfortunately we soon discovered that I was allergic to her so she was banished to another room for the rest of the afternoon.

As well as discovering how someone in real life is just as lovely as she is on Blipfoto, it was wonderful to hear my parents talk with our hosts about their connections to Humshaugh and the local area. It's interesting how a new person (or people) can prompt your nearest and dearest to relate stories of their past that you have never heard before.

After recording our blipmeet, we then headed home in the car, with my father giving a running commentary from the driver's seat. He showed us the farm where he used to go shooting, the wood where he was stung by 23 bees, and a mound under which, as a lad, he discovered an ancient cist.

We're now going to relate all our afternoon adventures to my sister and see what other stories we can extract from our parents' memories over dinner.
