Jackdaw

I spotted this jackdaw and was struck by how inquisitive it was and seemed to be observing me as I passed.
Upon doing some research, this is a Western or European Jackdaw, or Coloeus monedula. They are part of the crow family, are quite intelligent, and can also be quite destructive. They are also known to be fascinated by, or attracted to shiny objects.
This one seemed to be very docile, and the striking jet black feathers stood out against the stone wall.
