Phase 1 Day 23. Two liters, outdoor workout and reading done. Holiday (Ryan Holiday) got me thinking again with what he shared on Epicureanism. Real pleasure as per the Epicureans, he says, is freedom from pain and agitation. He further posits that if wanting something makes you miserable when you don't have it, does it not diminish the value of the thing when you finally get it? Surely, there is that momentary sense of relief, pride and joy when after some time of putting in required work, you reap the expected reward. However, he says, as most desires are at their core irrational, overindulgence in these impulses naturally comes with a caveat. In the end, it is still asking one's self of what's most important and what sacrifices are we willing to make to secure it.

I have weird (gross) looking blisters at the back of my left leg. According to Google, it is often a result of the immune system failing and although it is not infectious, am already having a dermatologist appointment scheduled. Thankfully even if it is uncomfortable, it is not painful and does not impede nor impact my workouts.

Ate M is still sick and even if her absence means extra work for us, I view it as an opportunity to increase our NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis).

Featured photo is just a chicken feather I spotted during my brisk walk earlier. :)
