Knife Angel

Oh what an absolutely brilliant day I have had. I was up early and drove to Oswaldtwistle and met Victoria then she drove us to Ribchester for a wild swim in the Ribble. It was a mental health swim at Marles Wood and there were about thirty of us. There was a walk through the woods down to the river and it was stunningly beautiful. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, the ice was scraped off the car, the water was just over eight degrees, the company was marvellous and the swim was exhilarating. We were the last couple out of the water. We must have been in for half an hour.

We stopped off at a shop for provisions on the way back to Victoria’s and then she cooked bacon butties whilst our toes thawed out.

We then picked up Christine and went to Blackburn Cathedral to see the Knife Angel. It was huge and it was quite frightening to see how many knives had been handed in to make it. To think they had been ‘out there’ in the hands of who knows who is scary. And….how many are still out there. When I say knives, there were machetes and cleavers too!

We then had a walk round the Monster Trail and took daft photos and videos. It was a great laugh.
