Before the storm

We had decided to go for a walk up a hill today. The weather forecast determined it would be morning and not a big hill so we headed to Kinnoull Hill at the edge of Perth.
It was a beautiful morning, but cold, and there were great views east along the Tay. We went to the top and then down sort of parallel to the river, then back up and down in the opposite direction. This side of the hill was quite autumnal but once down for the second time it was winter, with snow flurries. Not deterred we went up a third time and back into autumn before a final loop down and back to the car. 5 miles/8k in total.
We then treated ourselves to lunch at the garden centre and by the time we left the sun had retreated westwards and it was raining.
It then became sleet and then snow so we were glad to be home in the warm. Though as I write this the precipitation has turned back to rain, the wind is roaring round and the heating keeps going off, brief blips in the electricity supply to the boiler control. We do have an electric fire if necessary.
It should be better by morning.
