Off the blocks

The seas are still up with the Southerly and ongoing front bringing more rain.   It was cool today probably around 20C with the sea temp around 18C and yet these young things have no fear and were having a lot of fun standing on the blocks at Merewether baths waiting for a big wave to come in and then jump in.

There was a lot going on aside from the block jumpers.   A strike fighter on it's own (normally they travel in packs of 4) flew past, and joining in on fly passes were a pelican and a sea eagle complete with what looks like a puffer fish for dinner.   The pelican was having a rest on the beach but took off with people coming close.   When it had the wind to it's back I reckon it was doing 50 knots.  (avian fly passes and one standing in the extras).
