Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

It's started

What a surprise to wake up to a fair covering of snow this morning. We were so lucky with the timing of our Christmas Market, storm Arwen on Friday and snow on Sunday (see extra).
I headed off to church this morning, I've realised I need to buy some winter proof shoes. We had around two thirds our normal congregation there today. Today, the first Sunday of Advent is of course the first Sunday in the Christian year so we lit the first candle in the Advent Crown - a blip for a future Sunday (or Wednesday).
Back home I put up the wreath which I bought yesterday, AmyW asked to see it so here it is. It was made by a very talented and local florist who now works from home having had a shop in William Street before Covid. I'm rather pleased with it.
Katy, Jon and the girls popped round this afternoon having spent the afternoon sledging. I served up some nice, warming hot chocolate which went down very well.
For dinner this evening we had the main course from a meal which I'd ordered from Côte at Home. We'll have the starter and dessert tomorrow.
Keep safe folks, and keep wearing masks - the Scottish numbers seem to be holding steady just now. Hopefully the vaccine will hold against this new variant.
