Broken but Unbowed

Is it any wonder the British as a people are fixated about the weather? Just 3 days ago Storm Arwen wrought havoc in the country with gales, snow, ice and major disruption for travel and power, while today it was a balmy 12°, feeling colder inside the house than outside.

The sea at Portobello was 9° and felt wonderfully bracing at 9am. No wet suit, no skins, just the body beautiful inside a too tight cozzie, but then there few people to notice the unbecoming bulges. 10 minutes of bobbing and swimming and it was out to dress the damp body and get a lift back home from my co immerser in her wonderfully hot car.

Groyne 4 at the beach has been stricken by Arwen and is leaning over at a rakish angle. I depend on its solidness to prop me up as I navigate the putting on of pants and breeks. I hate to think when and how long it will take to be fixed. Hopping about unsteadily on one leg with pants half on is not a cool look. Much better to have a groyne to lean on.
