Black Friday...

Backblip

...in more ways than one!

It was beautifully clear this morning when I accompanied MrM to the tip to dispose of several bags of rubble that was once part of the wall in our bedroom. (My presence was necessary to convince the attendant that MrM is a local householder, not a builder!) Stopped on the way back for a couple of photos. Shame about the power lines though.

Met our friend Janet by the 'green skip' at the tip, and she followed back for a coffee. Another coffee with Jacqui after lunch, before she showed me her fabulous new camper van.

A trip to Berwick this afternoon where MrM had his booster jab, while I popped in to the Green Shop for a few essentials. When we set off the wind was building up, and by the time we left Berwick it was ferocious, and chucking it down with rain too. Storm Arwen had arrived.

No sooner had we finished our evening meal than the lights went out. A power cut. Head torches and camping lamps were hastily located, candles and tea lights lit. Then a supermarket delivery arrived, by torchlight. Hadn't expected the drivers to come out in such extreme weather!

Once the shopping was packed away, MrM lit the woodburner and we indulged in a couple of wee drams before bed, hopeful that power would be restored by morning.
