In flight

I lead the U3A Birdwatching group and we had decided to go to Wood Lane Nature Reserve this morning.  I phoned the Wildlife Trust to check that it was open and they said that it was.

When I got to the reserve the gates were padlocked so there was no entry. There was only one couple that turned up as the weather was inclement so we decided to go to Colemere instead as it's quite close.

We saw a flock of long-tailed tits (my blip), a pair of blackcaps, a goldcrest, tree creeper, tufted ducks and great crested grebe so we had plenty of sightings.

We drove back past Wood Lane and the gates were open.  Never mind, we'll attempt to go another time.
