Haweswater from the Straits of Riggendale

Drove over to Haweswater early (due to the limited amount of daylight hours) and walked over the Straits of Riggendale to the summit of High Street (which used to be used for horse races), then onto The Knott, Rampsgill Head, High Raise (Martindale) and finally Kidsty Pike, adding 5 Wainwright's to our second round. The light was certainly fading as we got back to the car, but what a great walk.

On the way up the Straits of Riggendale, I was really taken by the way this wall acted as a leading line to take the viewer to the lake. If you look closely, you'll see white horses on the lake, just to the right of the little sunlit tree; further up the fells the wind was pretty severe, gusting over 50mph. I think I could have tied a rope to Deb and flown her like a kite!

High Street: 92/214
The Knott: 93/214
Rampsgill Head: 94/214
High Raise: 95/214
Kidsty Pike: 96/214

Still on track to get halfway this year, the aim is to complete them all inside 12 months, which will be the 12th June 2022
