Walking the dog

Another busy day - in a good, sociable sense.
Richard and I went into town early to visit Waterstones. The weather was foul - wind and heavy rain - so town was quiet. We managed to pick up some Christmas presents, including a Junior Scrabble set for Eben.
This afternoon I went to visit Patricia, an old friend who's recovering from a hip replacement (the image is her living-room, complete with various aids). P has carefully constructed a dog-walking rota for Hector, her lovely lurcher, with various friends, until she's able to get out with him herself again. H and I enjoyed a brisk and windblown walk around the nearest park before agreeing with each other that it was too bleak for anything more strenuous. Then P and I had time for a cup of tea and a good catch-up,
