Bird Nests and Front Outdoor Lights

More decorations being blipped today but what we were mostly doing is taking childrens' presents out of boxes, putting in batteries and adding any stickers that were part of the package. Amazing how long that can take, have to figure out where all of the stickers go for one thing, and then repack it all!
The blips photos are, obviously, the front of the house. We have more lights this year. In the, now bare, cherry blossom tree there were two sets which we left up all year. One set didn't work and so we bought three new sets, 400 LED bulbs each! This meant we could swag them along the hedges, and part way back again, as well as having a brighter tree display.
That big white splodge beside the door is the Christmas tree that Buddy was standing beside in the blip with the reindeer a few days ago.
The birds nest is an innovation of Marlane's, started a few years ago. This year she did it in the dining room, linking all three lights that are above the dining table.
It's quite effective, did worry me a bit about heat building up and the fire risk, but on regular checking they are not getting any warmer than they usually do. Still not switching them on usually, just using the battery lights amongst the feathers, and other lamps around the room 'Alexa, Dining Room On', how lazy are we getting! I have even programmed it so that I can say '"Alexa, Christmas Lights On" and the tree, the window lights, and all of those outside lights come on at the same time. They are programmed automatically for Alexa to switch them off at midnight so I don't have to wait up to tell her.
