As A Mill Pond

The lake surface was as still as could be and when I first arrived reflected an interesting cloudy sky with the addition of the odd flight of passing gulls. As usual when I find some interesting light, by the time I got set up it had changed. The sun came out, breaking up the cloud making the reflections less appealing. I tried a few shots with the sun out of frame to reduce the dynamic range, but that was disappointing.

Eventually I settled on including the sun albeit in the extreme corner and, by getting low to the water, filled the foreground with a patch of accumulated leaves. This left less space for the open water and sky which seem improved at this angle.
