Castle

Saturday was a full day.

Met up with friends at Haymarket Station in Edinburgh and started out to walk along the Water of Leith path. At our first path closure we took a break and went for coffee at the Gallery of Modern Art. Unfortunately it was raining when we emerged and, although we continued for a while, when the snow started we abandoned our plans and dived into the Botanic Gardens for (an albeit late) lunch. A wander through the gardens next then back into the city centre, by which time we were ready for another coffee. Time to go our separate ways, but for me that meant staying on in the capital as I was meeting another friend for dinner then a visit to the Castle of Light son et lumière later.

It was an excellent production with the stories of the Castle's history projected against its historic walls. It was cold up there in the brisk wintry wind but thankfully dry, especially after the afternoon's wetter conditions. Some photos attached.
