Getting the sparkle back

Leaderfoot Viaduct

Seen at the beginning of a walk with J up the Leader Water to Redpath and back. The weather looks as though butter wouldn't melt in its mouth from this picture. However, it clouded over and later, after we had finished the walk and were having a cup of tea, it started to snow, quite hard. I set off back home but only got a few miles to Earlston where the traffic was at a standstill. I decided to give up that attempt and went back to J's. The snow turned to rain and after a few hours the A68 went from red and orange to green on Google maps so I set off again. It was still a fairly horrible journey in the dark with lashing rain, strong winds and a lot of water on the road, but I made it.
