Lupins , Ahuriri. River

What an awesome day we have had. Left home at 6.45am to meet up with my photography friends to go chasing after lupins. We went up through the Waitaki Valley and on over the Lindis Pass. The weather was dull after rain but added sharpness and contrast to the colours.
Further on we met another photographer who lived in the area and she showed us the way to the shell of the Old Lindis Hotel from the gold mining days. Fascinating old ruin and more lupins
We are staying tonight in a beautiful home in Twizel that belongs to one of our group
