Nesting Grebes

Another amazing day on our Roadie
After a wonderful cooked breakfast we set off for home knowing that we had more photo opportunities on the way
More lupins at Lake Tekapo then back to Lake Alexandrina to photograph the nesting Grebes. The last two years they have come there in great numbers after being just a few for years. It was truly amazing watching them. Some on their nests , many cruising and one or two with already hatched babies on their backs. Some were prctically hidden amongst their parents back feathers and others looking out as they swam along. If you look at one of my extras you will see one had fallen off and the parent waited while the little one managed to scramble back up on her back
What a wonderful couple of days we have had and this old lady is tired and ready for bed
