NZ Autumn 2024

By AndrewNZ

Tiny Tuesday alternate perspective.

The aircraft in the picture is a Beech King Air 350i it has a 57 foot wingspan and can carry 9 passenger whereas its namesake the Airbus A350 has a 212 foot wingspan and can carry 350 to 410 passengers so in comparison the Beech King Air is tiny!

The King Air was taking off from Nelson airport heading for Hokitika and is privately owned.

The Extra is an airside picture of Nelson Airport which is relatively new and the control tower which was built at the same time and is the last control tower to ever be built in New Zealand. In future there will be Control Rooms where they will have sight of the airfield via cameras.

And finally the other Extra is Kasper as after spending loads of time brushing him today was his Spa day, which he hates, and he is now called Fluffy!
