Hunting

I took my freelance work to the beach today as F needed an assistant to carry his kayak stuff to Cooden Beach on the train. It was an experiment to see whether it is feasible to get to the seaside with the kayak on public transport as we're reluctant to buy or hire a car for the sole purpose of transporting the kayak. It worked fine until we wanted to go for a walk - where can we put the kayak? The train station wouldn't take any left luggage, and the hotel by the seaside was reluctant. So we parked it in the public car park with a note to say we'd be back within the hour. Luckily, it was still there when we returned. Perhaps it's time to buy a beach hut, though a car is probably much, much cheaper!!

On our seafront walk, we saw this kestrel hovering over some possible tasty morsel.
