A quiet cuppa

A friend alerted me to a certain shop in Stirling that buys unwanted electrical goods. So I popped in with some old audio equipment, and got an unexpected insight into another world.

I was   asked for proof of identity, either a passport or driving license, then I was subjected to a photo ID.
All this took place discreetly at the back of the shop behind a screen. Apparently it’s to guard against stolen goods, or fencing.

Stirling is on the long list for UK City of Culture 2025 and it’s busy reinventing itself now that more and more of us are all shopping online. One result is the proliferation of cafes, even street ones when the temperature is only a few degrees above freezing, like today.
