A New Lease Of Life....!!

Well, hearing life for me anyway....! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned before that I have very serious trouble with my ears and have been attending an ENT specialist for almost 12 years now...he has done his best to keep my hearing as good as possible but now I would be deemed almost profoundly deaf in my left ear and have a regular hearing aid in my right which works fairly well, but it’s now time to consider a Cochlear implant...and my blip photo is of the Baha version...
I spent all day today (back Blip) again (Monday) at Tullamore General Hosp with a specialist audiologist nurse and my Audiologist having the whole procedure and aftercare and use of this wonderful piece of equipment explained to me..
Part of the day consisted of wearing what you see in the photo , the hearing aid on a tight headband and being sent out to have lunch and shop etc...( of course this was no penance)!!!
To see what I thought ....and I can say it was absolutely magic.
They were considering doing the procedure this week but I decided to wait til the new year..
It will be difficult for me but we’ll wort the end result....
Does anyone use one of these hearing aids...??
