Ready for her Christmas party

(10/12/21)

We didn't get the car back until lunchtime, but that was fine. There was enough time to pop into M&S for G to buy an essential item for her outfit for her 4get-me-not Christmas party in the evening. That went from 5-9 PM!

I have to say it is GREAT to have the car back. It is going much better, so it will be good to see if it is better with its fuel consumption when the catalytic converter gets replaced.

The big news of the day is possibly the biggest news of the decade. The Government announced they are changing the weekend! I never thought I'd see the day. From 1st January 2022, government offices will work a four-and-a-half-day week, from Monday to Friday! Unbelievable. For businesses dealing with the rest of the world, it is obvious that this is a welcome and long-overdue change but given how much people's identity is tied to their religion in this part of the world, it's going to be very interesting over the next few weeks. To add to the discussion, nothing has been said about what work-week schools and the private sector should follow. There was much talk at the Life group on this subject later in the evening. Our new American pastor was surprised at how quickly something as major as changing the weekend is being rolled out with just three weeks notice.

G's ride home didn't happen, so I went to fetch her. She'd had a good evening, winning a breakfast for two voucher in the raffle. :))
