Perch Lighthouse

Another beautiful morning heading into work.

This is the Perch Lighthouse, built around 186o on the River Clyde, just off Coronation Park, Port Glasgow.

Last year a plaque was unveiled in Coronation Park as a memorial of the 1947 Clyde Boating Tragedy, when an open pleasure boat sank off Rosneath Point, and twenty men, women and children were drowned and only three were saved, making this one of the worst pleasure craft disasters in the river's history.

More information on the Tragedy can be found here.
