Dash - It

Moorhens can really move when they want to.

I prefer it when my subjects remain relatively still to have their blips taken. This one was pecking around casually when something spooked it and it took off at top speed towards the water.

I was back at Kinghorn Loch bird-hide hoping to see the water rail again but no luck. No sight of the little grebes either though I heard them laughing from two locations on the lochside. They have such a powerful voice for such a small bird. That reminds me about the wren (another powerful singer). One landed on a branch in front of the hide and burst into song. Sadly, my camera had shut down through inactivity and by the time it was booted up again and lens extended, the wren had finished and was away.
