Lover's sunset

I sit and watch the sunset fill the heavens and a part of me knows that in your own place, your own land, you watch that same sun set and its colours flow to wrap us both in a gossamer halo of light.

Into my eyes, so oft of late filled with the cold dampness of sorrow at our forced separation, tears of joy spring unbidden at the thought that we are sharing that light like a blanket shared covering love-shined bodies.

Within the expanse of these glorious heavens, my thoughts stray, float and merge with your own until they are, until we are as one and for that moment, there is no distance between us, for we both stand within that light of heaven.
