Spiked

After the tree workers left, I checked how much damage was done.  Relatively speaking, it was not that bad this year.  They didn't harm the underlying shrubs.   Insects, including this ant, rushed to drink up the syrup flowing from injuries to the sugar maple tree from the  climber's spikes.  This is the only one we have from MFC's parents.  We'll see how long it lives now that it's been punctured up and down its trunk.  The extra shows other evidence of their "work."
