First Omicron case in MIQ

The case arrived from Germany on a flight via Dubai and is double-vaccinated.  They tested positive for Omicron on their first day test and have been moved to a full Quarantine facility.  Everyone on the flight will be treated as a close contact, as will everyone on the same floor in the MIQ facility, and will remain in MIQ for the full ten-day period.  Fingers crossed that contains it.

We met a friend for coffee today and it was so nice just to sit and chat and catch up on what’s happening.  Tonight we’re going to friends for dinner, the first time since before lockdown started.

Hubby had spotted a potential blip for me, so we drove by on our way home from coffee this afternoon and I took a photo.  I think he’s rather nice and would love one in our garden.

There are 91 new community cases today across Northland (2), Auckland (55), Waikato (7), Lakes (1), Bay of Plenty (10) and Taranaki (16).
