An ordinary life....

Decision made...

By the time we woke this morning we had decided that we would follow the  current Sage advice of No indoor gatherings between households of any size (excepting bubbled individuals and other roadmap exceptions) between now and 25th December in the hope we will be able to go ahead with our family dinner here on Boxing Day.

Two vaccinations and a booster and yet here we are....  R number at 4 and the very real threat of another Christmas spent without wider family and friends.  Grump!

David made the call to Alan's pal Andrew's mum to give her the news that we would have to postpone Andrew's visit here on Monday.  I knew he would be disappointed but with 10 people in his household, it's just too big a risk.  Thankfully Andrew's mum had anticipated the call and already prepared Andrew.  Agreed we will arrange a new date for the visit early in the new year, circumstances permitting.

Also cancelled the photoshoot with Nikki and Esme on Sunday.  They are both loaded with the cold and it wouldn't have gone ahead anyway so I didn't feel so bad about that one.

As part of Andrew's Christmas I ordered him this fleecy blanket that's been personalised with photos from our holiday in September.  I am sure he will love it and hope it will make up for cancelling next week.

Finally got my Christmas cards written.  Yay!  Last day for second class post is tomorrow so just made it!   Wrapping will be completed by Sunday, then other preparations will continue in the hope our family get together won't be cancelled.  If it is we will be eating pigs in blankets till February!
