Questions And Puzzles

Sandy and Inga F invited us for coffee this morning, assuring us that they had both taken Lateral Flow Tests and were clear.

Pat took along a selection of her homemade Christmas Confectionery.

We enjoyed  convivial chatter and discussed various artists and works of art. They are quite the collectors. He then showed a painting and asked what we thought of it.

We both recognised the artist and the subject: Joan Eardley had painted Pat Samson.

Pat and I had visited the Joan Eardley exhibition a week ago. I quickly found other paintings of Pat Samson which look very similar.

Sandy was unaware of the exhibition, but now plans to visit this week and take their painting.  The frame does have Joan Eardley written on it.

And today’s Blipfoto?  Pat had bought a selection of "Fat Quarters" and her ordered Rotary Cutter arrived today.  The cutter works very well.

Pat had plans to make some place mats and I had organised a pattern which I believe is the way they will be sewn together.

This actually took some time to make a pattern which satisfied me. All that is required now is for Pat to sew them using her trusty Clydebank, Scotland built sewing machine.

It must be at least 70 years old. It is a commercial grade machine. Pat has been using it for about 60 years and when it arrived back in Scotland from California I obtained a motor suitable for the UK from the local Singer Shop.

The afternoon was spent in a  FaceTime conversation with Vickie and Mark in California catching up on Coelho family matters and plans for the Festive Season.
