a lifetime burning

Shortest Day

It is the winter Solstice, the shortest day, and the longest night.  The last year ends but a new one begins tomorrow. I'll be older, but not necessarily any wiser and most certainly not any less wrinkly.

BC (Before Covid) I'd have generally gone to the pub for a beer tonight, but not last year, and not this year, and who knows, perhaps not next year either.  Drinking in pubs always used to bring with it the risk of a nasty cold for Christmas, or if you were really unlucky flu.  It would be great to get to  be able to enjoy just that level of risk wouldn't it?
