Bovine beauties

A mild, damp and still morning as M and I go walking around our  neighbouring village.
We came out of the churchyard, crossed the field and saw these lovely bovine beauties waiting all in a line to see if the farmer would bring them any hay to eat.  I love their 'top-knots' and fluffy ears and their appealing faces.
After our walk, it was down to the garden centre for cups of steaming hot coffee and a mince pies. They had to unlock the door for us to sit outside but it wasn't cold and a lot healthier than the warmth of the café.
In the afternoon, drop in on my bowling friend M for tea and in the evening neighbour G comes in for a pleasant glass of wine and nibbles.
Despite the new Covid racing up the country from London, we were able to enjoy a little conviviality and friendship  before Christmas for who knows what the next few weeks will bring?

For the record: Max 5C, mild and damp
