a lifetime burning

Dad

I visited Dad today in the local Care Home and for a change took a camera with me.

He managed to get to the room of the visit using his Zimmer frame (with the assistance of one of the carers) which is not bad for a 90 year old with advanced Parkinsons.   He has been in pretty good form recently, and was again today, although he does seem to have caught a cold from somewhere.  Just in time for Christmas of course, but then colds were always traditional at Christmas.

While he does get a bit confused now, he was very keen for me to wish a happy Christmas to his children and grandchildren.  We talked about mince pies, of all things.  His considered opinion was that there weren't enough of them in the home, but then he confessed that he had eaten six.  I suspect that there are mince pies and probably plenty of them, and from the sound of things Dad may be eating a fair few of them.
