Greys Court

08.12.21
Mum and I went to Greys Court today. We’re getting in all our Christmas outings early. You never know what’s around the corner!
Greys Court is one of my all-time favourite National Trust properties. It’s a beautiful house - a higgledy-piggledy 14th, 15th and 16th century house, left as it was when the owners left in the 1980s. It’s wonderfully domestic even though the house is grand. And it’s like the owners have just stepped out - half wrapped presents on the chairs, toys on the nursery floor, a proper massive tin of Roses on the table. Loads of homemade decorations and greenery, cards which had actually been sent to the family over the years.
And an ice house, gardens beautiful even in December, delicious mushroom soup, and a second hand bookshop. Loved it!!
