What Happened....

In 1653?

This is the definition of desperation
Dull day, no plans, Mrs I took Hollie out and J and Ell, our son and daughter, have gone out for a catchup over lunch.
I am actually bored, and have no idea what to take a photograph of.

In the gloom of a dreary damp day, I see the time on the digital display on the cooker. Let's take a picture of that... Click. Now what... Let's Google the date and see what happened.
In 1653 Oliver Cromwell was appointed Lord Protector, and banned Christmas. Dancing and parties were deemed unseemly, he wanted people to forget about pagan celebrations and concentrate on the Christian origins of the Christmas story.
Sounds like my kind of guy.

It's Christmas eve, whatever you do have fun, hug your loved ones and don't run with scissors.

Happy Holiday!!
