Wound up in Wexford

Merry Christmas everyone.

We (well actually it was mainly I) decided that, since we would be alone over the Christmas period (both girls were going to their respective partners) that we should get away.  We considered Ireland, but it was just a bit too far.  So we're having a few days in a cottage in Suffolk.

Today we went for a good walk - through some woodland (where we spotted these glasses hanging on a branch) to Dunwich Heath, then returning along the coast (see extra), and back to Eastbridge up the same path we tried a couple of days ago, but finding an alternative, less muddy, route.

It was a lovely walk, though the wind was rather cold.  We managed to find some shelter for our picnic lunch in a viewpoint looking over Minsmere RSPB (which is shut today and tomorrow).

Back at the cottage, we had a Facebook chat to R, who is currently in Kidderminster, and very concerned they may not be able to come to Norfolk as planned, in a few days, as we seem to be moving towards yet another lockdown!  I have to admit that my cynical response to this was that she should just come regardless - "just trying out my eyesight sergeant"!  They are flying out of Stansted, so will need to drive east in any case.

Later we also had a chat to Z.  And our Christmas dinner was a tuna pasta bake, followed by rhubarb and apple crumble.  Now supping some Bailey's and thinking about an early night.
