Leybourne Lakes

It was a "full on" Christmas Day yesterday in the company of my sister, BiL, niece, her 2 eldest daughters and good friend - not to forget their dog Buster. There was food galore, beautifully prepared by sister and BiL, and ample supply of cheer via alcohol or party games (or both!).  It was a good job their neighbour was away, as impromptu performances on the piano, mostly at top volume, also took place.  We agreed it was a good day ... though we probably could have done without Buster's windy tummy (phew)!!


Today my sister, BiL and I took a chance on the weather and headed to Leybourne Lakes Country Park for some fresh air, and to take the cameras for a walk.  It was wall-to-wall greyness as we arrived, and it started to pour with rain a short time into our walk such that we nearly turned back. However, we kept going and were rewarded with misty scenes and calm waters over the lakes.  As we headed back to the car the cloud cover even broke to give us this subtle sunset.  A great end to the trip.
