xmas table

not mine, unfortunately. We visited Forty Hall today and went around the house that has been decorated for xmas at various time periods. This room is set up as the dining room of the original owner , Nicolas  Rainton who I think the portrait is of, who was Lord Mayor of London in 1632.  He'd acquired one of henry Viii th palaces where Mary, Elizabeth and Edward lived but they'd moved on (in various ways!)  . They hadn't kept up with the repairs so sadly the old palace was completely pulled down and a more modest house put up.
We had a wander around the gardens and took some birds flying at the lake (see extra).  Even managed to escape the rain.
Has a lovely evening of a zoom catch up and quiz with friends.
