Stob an Chul Choire

Mrs SJR didn't like the sound of my walk suggestion based on my warning of quite a bit of ascent on a track at South Laggan. Okay, what about Intake 7? Good, and we set off. There is a very steep forest track cuts a rake up and across the steepest section of Leanachan Forest and it starts with a junction from the Intake 7 track. To my surprise Mrs SJR suggested that route for a change. We have been here before but not for a couple of years.
Holding a brisk walking pace it provided a good burst of exercise. We got grand views over the wide tract of land formed by the confluence of the Great Glen and Glen Spean. At the very upper reach, the forward view is dominated by this mountain. It is well over 3000 feet and an attractive hill in its own right but stationed right next to much higher peaks means that the Munro badge is not awarded.
While much higher than the walks of the previous two days it was pleasantly mild and you didn't need a hood up.
