Pooh Sticks with Leaves

Time seems to expand when Euan and his Mummy and Daddy are here.  He was up and came in to see us at just before seven so we had an early morning chat about important things before heading downstairs to greet Mummy and play for a while whilst Granny sorted breakfast.

Then there were several jobs to do: clearing up the chalks which had mysteriously ended up on the floor; making Grandad's breakfast; tidying away the breakfast things and deciding which was a big tray, medium sized tray and little tray; making jam on toast and feeding Shep the Bunny.  Euan does like helping and our new mini hoover is just right for him to sweep up the pine needles from the Christmas tree.

Then it was time to don wellies and warm all-in-ones and head up to the Estate to jump in puddles, climb trees, explore the big wood and feed the ducks and swans.  We had a chat with a horse and bumped in to Mummy and Daddy en route to the cafe where we sat outside for cuppas and eats.

Euan is a big cafe fan so didn't want to leave, but Grandad Tony tempted him away with play at the mini waterfall, dropping in leaves and watching them whoosh away down the stream.  When it was time to go, Euan didn't want to, which all signified it was time for a nap after a very busy morning.  Much distraction was tried but it was the neighbour's Christmas tree made out of trugs which finally did the trick, then readied for bed he had a long chat with Daddy about all the nice things he had done in the day and finally fell asleep.  Mummy has gone for a run and the rest of us are now in recovery mode before the next shift!
