Window on Dava

A mild, dry day to be enjoyed on the Moor. We revisited Lochnellan, one of the last farms on Dava to be abandoned after the closure of the railway and school in the 1960s.

This window at the back of the house gives a tantalising glimpse of a Belfast sink, frayed curtain and long forgotten cans and bottles.

The colours and textures of the peeling paint and stone around this window attracted me - the Winter dampness heightened the colours in the rock from which the house was built.
