A new year begins

I think everyone around the world is pleased to see the back of 2021 and start 2022 with renewed hope.

Today is my 365th blip, having missed one day in March last year when we drove to Napier to attend the funeral of a very dear friend. It’s been an interesting and enjoyable year finding something to blip each day and following other blippers.  It’s such fun seeing what blippers around the world are recording.

We had a very lazy morning after our very late night saying goodbye to 2021. This afternoon we hopped on our bikes and cycled to Parnell, where we delivered calendars.  It was good exercise, as Parnell is hilly, and good practise for our cycle ride starting on the 10th.

The main blip is of a large red elephant sculpture outside the Red Elephant Thai restaurant on Khyber Pass Road. It’s often caught my eye and I decided it would be a suitable subject for my 365th blip.

The first extra is of the Sky Tower bathed in different coloured lights from the light show to welcome 2022. The second extra is a quick blip of the city skyline taken from the bus  as we travelled home in the early hours of the morning.

There is no update of community cases today.
