End of Year, Sun Rising Into the Mist

"You too have come into the world to do this,
To go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine."
When I Am Among the Trees, by Mary Oliver

It was extremely foggy out first thing in the morning, on the very last day of 2021. I ran across the street with my camera and took a few photos while it was still very thick. The sun came out and it almost seemed like this misty looking tree wanted to hold the bright orb gently between its branches.

So here is a new year's wish, based on the example presented by this tree: may the new year hold you gently. May it be full of all good things. May you find health and love and happiness if you don't already have those things. May you discover beauty. May you learn to truly SHINE.

A good friend of mine who has just been through a lot shared a Facebook link on New Year's Eve morning to this song, and I think it's perfectly appropriate here. Here are the Goo Goo Dolls, with Better Days.

So take these words and sing out loud
'Cause everyone is forgiven now
'Cause tonight's the night the world begins again
