Female Goosander

It’s not a rare sighting but quite an uncommon one. Despite the strong wind I headed up to the loch this morning. I haven’t been for a number of weeks so my resolution for 2022 is to visit at least once a week.

I spotted a cormorant, male and female goosanders, little grebes, tufted ducks, lapwings, mallards, swan family and then the peace was broken as the geese flew in from their foraging in the nearby fields.

You couldn’t fail to notice the rather splendid new rubbish bins …. solar powered no less. I have no idea how they work so I’ll need to do a bit of research on Google.
